Updated May 7, 2004 The History
When the idea of Pro Wrestling
Canada was created, returning Pro Wrestling to the glory days
of when man did battle in the ring to prove who the best of
the best was. All too often these days under aged or inexperienced
wrestlers are given opportunities they have not earned. PWC
plans to bring back to the fans what they never should have
lost. Competitive wrestling featuring real wrestling talent
and whom have lived their entire lives to dual in the squared
circle.
It wasn't all to long ago Pro
Wrestling was divided into territories ruled by strong Independent
Wrestling Promotions which all had their own top stars who
were house hold names. Slowly this very successful method
died out leaving only a few powerful promoters who had raided
all the top talents from all of the territories. With all
of their top talent gone the less fortunate promoters had
no choice but to either close down or start promoting shows
at smaller venues.
Our Mission
Wrestling in many ways has hit
an all time low. The once glorious battles in the Squared
Circle that drew thousands of people, now usually draw between
30 and 200 people. Sadly many promoters do not have access
to tools to succeed, or even worse yet enjoy promoting to
small crowds. PWC refuses to settle for this lack off success,
refuses to promote small shows, and refuses to allow lack
lustre wrestlers compete in the squared circle.
We intend to promote shows
across all of Canada. We also intend to open opportunities
for our Wrestlers to compete all over the world to prove what
Pro Wrestling Canada is all about. Our shows will be packed
full of men and women who want the same thing, who want to
prove their toughness, who want to find fame and glory.
How is this obtained you might
ask? Well it is simple and unfortunately not very many other
promoters understand this. If you book inexperienced talent
to save on expenses for a show you are providing a product
not worth very much. When you promote a product not worth
very much you end up attracting very few fans. When you attract
very few fans you have to book even more inexperienced talent
to compensate for those losses. Now you have entered into
a vicious cycle.
Pro Wrestling Canada refuses
to do this. We plan on booking experienced men and women who
people want to see. We are combining major stars from the
past 3 decades with the best of the new generation of wrestlers.
Every wrestler who fights within the PWC ring will have earned
that spot.
With this said some people
may be thinking that we are unfriendly to rookies starting
out. We are not unfriendly but we will not use any rookie
who hasn’t proved his worth. Every wrestler who doesn’t
qualify immediately for a spot on our roster is more then
welcomed to pay their dues with PWC by practicing during training
sessions and working as ring crew and security at our events.
We will help you achieve the levels of skill you need to start
wrestling for us.
To the Media
We can understand why you constantly
do not provide coverage to Professional Wrestling. With all
the bad publicity, near pornographic, and tasteless events
occurring on TV and in buildings across North America it makes
it hard for Wrestling to be given the credit it deserves.
Pro Wrestling Canada promises
to you to bring you the wrestling you remember reporting on.
A product you can give to the public that they want to see.
You won’t see women being used as sex objects or 110lbs.
soaking wet rookies. The quality and class of our shows will
prove once and for all Pro Wrestling truly does belong headlining
in the sports section of the newspaper or on the Sports report
on TV.
To our Sponsors
We thank all of you whom have
supported us this far. We will continue to get you the exposure
you deserve. With the wrestling fans who are interested in
Pro Wrestling Canada increasing every day we are going to
continue to prove we are worthy of your sponsorship.
The Future
We hope the fans, sponsors,
news media, and talented wrestlers from around the globe throw
their full support behind PWC as we go and create our own
Territory to thrive and succeed. On September 17th 2004 we
will be holding our first of many shows in the Vancouver and
surrounding areas. In 2005 we will slowly expand across Canada
picking up momentum as we go. Day by day PWC grows stronger
giving our children the potential for the same entertainment
that we all had as children.
Role models, real heroes, tough
men and women, and best of all the glorious competition has
returned to the Squared Circle.
